Terms of service

The terms a job is carried out under: how a price becomes a price, what your approval means, who owns the old parts, and what happens when something goes wrong.

  1. Who these terms are with

Your contract is with the licensed entity that operates this workshop. Its registered legal name, trade licence number and tax registration number are not printed here yet, because we will not print a registration we cannot evidence. They will be, before these terms are finalised, and a UAE tax invoice must carry them in any case.

The trading name shown on this website is a working name and may change. A change of trading name does not change the entity you contracted with.

  2. What this website is, and is not

This website describes services and, where a price is shown, shows it as a starting price for a defined piece of work. It is information, not an offer capable of acceptance, and nothing on it is a quotation for your car.

Where a price is not shown, it is because there is no honest price to show before the car has been looked at. That is not an omission to be filled in later by a number on the phone.

  3. Booking and check-in

A booking is a time reserved, not a commitment to any particular work. When the car arrives we record its condition, the odometer and the fuel level, and log the keys. Those records are part of your job file and are available to you.

You confirm that you own the vehicle or are authorised by its owner to instruct work on it.

  4. Inspection, quotation and your approval

This is the heart of these terms and the heart of how the workshop runs.

    • We find the fault and record each finding with what proves it and a status. On a pre-purchase inspection each finding also carries a photograph and, where one exists, a measurement against its limit.
    • Work is then offered to you as individual lines, each with its own price, split between parts and labour, with VAT shown.
    • You approve or decline each line. Approving a line is your authorisation for us to carry out that line and to charge for it.
    • Declining a line has no cost, and does not cancel the lines you approved.
    • If something is discovered once the work is under way, it comes back to you as a new line. It is never absorbed into an approved line.
    • If a line cannot be completed for the price approved, we stop and come back to you rather than continue and invoice the difference.
  5. Diagnosis time

Finding a fault is itself work, and where a diagnosis requires meaningful time it is quoted and approved as a line like any other before it starts.

Some faults cannot be reproduced on demand. If we cannot reproduce yours, we will tell you exactly what we tested and what it returned, rather than replacing parts until the symptom goes away.

  6. Parts

The line you approve states what part is being fitted. Where there is a choice between an original manufacturer part and an equivalent, the choice and the price difference are put to you; we do not quietly fit the cheaper one.

Parts we removed from your car are yours. Tell us when you approve the line and they will be kept for you to inspect or take away; otherwise they are disposed of after the job.

Parts remain our property until the invoice covering them is paid in full.

  7. Warranty

No warranty term is stated on this website, because one has not been set. We are not going to publish a period we have not committed to internally.

This does not remove your statutory rights. UAE consumer protection law, and the manufacturer’s own warranty on a part supplied, apply regardless of what any term here says. When a warranty policy is set, it will be published here and on each service page, and it will apply from its stated date.

  8. Payment and VAT

Invoices are itemised and their lines match the lines you approved. Payment is due on collection unless a written account arrangement exists.

Prices are shown and invoiced in UAE dirhams and include VAT at the prevailing rate where VAT applies. A valid UAE tax invoice is issued for every job.

  9. Collecting the car, and leaving it with us

We will tell you when the car is ready. If it is left with us for a long period after that, we may charge reasonable storage; if we intend to, we will tell you the rate first and in writing.

We hold a lien over the vehicle for unpaid invoiced work, as UAE law permits.

  10. Your property inside the car

Please take valuables, documents and toll tags out before you hand the car over. Items left in the vehicle are left at your own risk, and we cannot be responsible for them beyond what the law requires of us.

Anything found in the car is logged at check-in and returned with it.

  11. Test drives

Some faults only appear while driving, so a road test may be necessary. It is carried out by our staff, on the shortest route that will reproduce the complaint, and only where the vehicle is roadworthy, registered and insured.

If your insurance does not cover a third party driving the vehicle, tell us and we will not road test it — and we will tell you what we cannot therefore confirm.

  12. If something goes wrong

Tell us first, and tell us quickly. Bring the car back and we will investigate the complaint the same way we investigate anything else, and record what we find. If the fault is ours, we put it right at our cost.

Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited under UAE law. Subject to that, our liability for a job is limited to the value of that job.

If we cannot resolve a complaint between us, it can be escalated to the economic development department of the emirate in which the workshop is licensed.

  13. Cancelling

You can cancel a booking at any time before the car is with us at no cost. Once work you approved has started, you are liable for the work carried out and the parts already fitted or ordered specifically for your vehicle.

  14. Governing law

These terms are governed by the federal law of the United Arab Emirates and the law of the emirate in which the workshop is licensed, and the courts of that emirate have jurisdiction.

Where the Arabic and English versions of these terms differ, the Arabic version prevails, as UAE law requires.
