Car battery
Heat is what kills batteries in this country, not cold. A Sharjah summer cooks the electrolyte and shortens the plate life, which is why batteries here rarely reach the age they would in Europe, and why so many die in the first week of a hot spell. Before we sell you one we test the one you have, test the charging system, and check that nothing is draining it while the car is parked, because a new battery fitted to a car with a drain is a repeat visit.
Start here
- 1Describe what the car is doing, in your words
- 2We investigate it and send you the findings and the price
- 3You approve each line before anything is done

Sounds like your car?
Find the line closest to what your car is doing. You do not need the name of the job — the symptom is carried into the booking form with it, and every line below starts at the same place: what we check, and how the work is done.
- 1 The car will not start in the morning
- 2 It starts slowly, like it is struggling
- 3 I had to jump start it yesterday
- 4 The battery light is on
- 5 It is fine when I drive daily and dead if I leave it
- 6 The battery is swollen or leaking
- 7 The dashboard resets and the clock goes back to zero
- 8 I need a battery delivered, the car will not move

What is included
- 2.1Rest voltage and a conductance or load test on your existing battery, with the printed result given to you
- 2.2Cranking voltage watched during a start, because a battery that reads fine at rest can still collapse under load
- 2.3Charging system output measured at the battery under load
- 2.4Parasitic drain check so a new battery is not fitted to a car that will flatten it again
- 2.5Terminals and earth straps cleaned, and corroded clamps replaced rather than wire-brushed and hidden
- 2.6Battery clamp and tray checked, because a battery that moves in Gulf heat and Sharjah speed bumps fails early
- 2.7Battery registration or coding to the vehicle where the charging strategy requires it
- 2.8Old battery taken away for recycling
- 2.9Date of fitting recorded against your car so its age is never a guess again
This work is done in this workshop, and nothing on your car is touched until you know what we found and what it costs.

What happens
-
3.1
Test first, sell second
A conductance tester prints a result. If your battery passes, we will tell you it passed and look elsewhere, and that includes days when you came in expecting to buy one. A battery that reads healthy at rest but drops heavily while cranking has failed, and that is a different reading we also record.
-
3.2
The right battery, not the one in reach
Case size, terminal layout, cold cranking rating and the type your car was designed for all matter. A car with stop-start was built around a specific battery chemistry, and fitting a conventional one to save money shortens its life and can upset the charging strategy.
-
3.3
Registered to the car where required
Many European models expect the new battery to be registered so the charging system treats it as new rather than as the old worn one. Skipping that step does not stop the car starting today, and it does shorten the life of the battery you just paid for.
-
3.4
We check why it died
If the charging voltage is wrong or something is drawing current overnight, the new battery is a countdown rather than a repair. That check is part of the job, and if we find a fault you get told what it is and a separate price for fixing it, to approve or decline.

Common questions
How long should a battery last in the UAE?
Less than the number printed on the box, because those figures are not written for Gulf summers. We will not invent a figure for your car. What we will do is record the fitting date against your vehicle and test the battery at every service, so you replace it on a reading rather than on a roadside.
Is a cheaper battery a false economy?
Not always, and we will not tell you it is in order to sell you the expensive one. Where it genuinely matters is the type: a car designed for an AGM battery should get one. Within the correct type, the difference is warranty terms and expected life, and we will show you both figures and let you pick.
Do I lose my radio code and settings?
On some cars, yes. We use a memory saver where the car needs one so that radio codes, seat and mirror positions and learned idle settings survive the change. If your model needs a code we cannot supply, we will tell you before we disconnect anything.
Do you deliver and fit a battery where the car is stuck?
Ask us when you call and we will give you a straight yes or no for your location on that day, rather than a promise on a web page. What we will not do is say yes and then tell you on arrival that you have to drive the car in, which is not possible with a flat battery and is the whole reason you phoned.
